Great little gadget
This thing is a bit of a brick but does what it claims to. I had a buried ethernet cable go down in my long narrow house and needed to replace it with a wireless bridge. I used this as a wifi receiver and it was easily set up, once I ignored the first line of the instructions that said it would find my network. I needs to be close to the wifi source before you get started, so a laptop would have been useful but I made do with a very long ethernet cable.. Once locked on it sorts itself out and since then has been rock solid. An added bonus is that it retransmits the wifi on two bands making an additional wifi hotspot if you need one.

Does what it says
Before I purchased this device I was getting very poor download speeds from a desktop computer using one of those devices that uses your mains wiring to send broadband from your router to a ethernet only device. Tried using WPS to set up, did not work, then used the browser option, no problem, up and running in a minute. This device works above expectation and produces better speeds than my wireless laptops do.

My version has a built-in DHCP server that cannot be disabled. Returned.
I bought this to extend a CCTV camera where I can't run a cable. I do this already with a Brostrend 1200 I bought in January 2024, and that works fine, but I needed another for a new camera. I bought this and was really happy with the results, the antennae are better and I get better results than with the 1200. However ...While I was setting up the CCTV camera's users for ZoneMinder etc, I noticed the IP address I was accessing it from looked a bit odd. They weren't in the range I'd designated in my DHCP pool, and it wasn't just one machine, my desktop and laptop had weird addresses. I thought something was awry for a moment, but did a quick check with "nmap --script broadcast-dhcp-discover" from a Linux machine and noticed I was getting TWO responses. One from my pfSense firewall - which is good - but another from this AX1500 - which is very bad. It responds to DHCPDISCOVER and chucks out whatever sort of IP address it feels like at the time. There is no option to turn this off. A DHCP server isn't even mentioned anywhere in the documentation, the setup, or the interface. The interface is pretty poor, in fact if you inspect the pages you'll see you're served commented out sections of HTML. That's not good either. It also assumes you're only ever using a /24, so you're only able to change the last octet if you want to set a manual IP address. Even though you can set a subnet mask significantly larger a /24, you're limited to only changing the last octet. You can affect this by attempting to give the unit a static IP over your own DHCP server, and it'll work once or twice (so at least you can get it where you want it to be), but upon a reboot it'll choose a new MAC address, making your DHCP server useless for this item.I've spoken to their tech support and I have to say they were very responsive and did their best, but they told me the DHCP server can't be disabled. As such this item is not fit for purpose and will just cause absolute havoc on your network. This is just a firmware change away so perhaps later versions will be better. My 1200 version works fine, this doesn't.

The supplied instructions need updating
The setting up to my router didn't work following the instructions and after several attempts I moved down to the 'if all else fails' part which said to do a factory reset by inserting a pin through a tiny hole on the side of the unit and it was as I looked for it that I saw a tiny black WPS button that wasn't mentioned at all anywhere in the instructions. Pressing that and the WPS on my router immediately connected them. The functionality of the Wi-fi adaptor is very good and I was using it to work as a bridge/LAN interface to my CCTV DVR which only supports a LAN connection. According to speed tests I performed the link was very solid on 5G so more than adequate to send the video data out to my iPhone.I only gave it 4* because of the poor instructions.

Works a treat. Sat up a breeze
My problem was that the new broadband line will be opposite side of house to the original. We have LAN connections from current router to home office.I have used this in wifi to gigabit mode to send the signal across the room from new router to existing LAN network. It is a wifi extender, which is a bonus, but not needed by me as I have a mesh.Set up was simple. Connect using phone to the unit, set a password and then put in the wifi password- sorted in about a minute. From there 1 cable to existing LAN.Our house is on 70mbs connection and I get full connection speed via this(then the LAN) to my office about 50m away.Happy

Will NOT work with a VOIP phones if the Wifi network is password protected .
I wanted to use this to use this in a care home to provide a relative with the virtual land line telephone.I tested this device in my home where I had control over the wifi and could turn on and off the wif-fi password . It connected to wifi on both occasions but the VOIP phone continued to sent out DCHP request and hence could not connect to the internet. The LAN connection works with a laptop or similar device whether the Wifi connection is password protected or not .The product support could not offer up any way or resolving the issue so regretfully this will be going back

Good solid wireless connection to remote Ethernet cable.
Does exactly what it says it should. Both a so called smart TV and a 3D printer I own cannot connect to my wi-fi as they do not have enough characters in their repertoire to enable me to enter my password, so need a cable connection. All the Ethernet across mains sockets I have tried will only connect if the two sockets are on the same house wiring circuit, so a wireless link is needed in my circumstances. This device means I do not need to change my password for a less secure one and can connect without having to run a special cable.
