Overall I love them.
My three year old son loves these and looks forward to doing them everyday. I will say the handwriting aspect isn’t the best because with most water books you have to go over and over the same spot to make it work. My son usually just colors it in, but there are other handwriting books that I use now.My only issues with these is the words egg, giraffe, sheep, and xerus. Although you are probably supposed to say egg most people prounce it with an A sound. I wish they would have used a hard g sound instead of a soft g so that it differentiates between j. Sh in sheep is a diagraph and is more confusing than helpful at the start of learning the alphabet. Xerus starts with a z sound and its more confusing than helpful. I wish they just stuck to x ray to differentiate it from the z card. Even with these issues I still like them a lot.

Cards are good
The cards are good but the pen is made out of soft plastic material and tears easily. The child ends up squeezing It and water pours everywhere. Prefer the Melissa and Doug pens. Also the lid ends up bending the bristles even when adult tries to close the pen. I just bring the “waterwow” pens with me instead

Fun!
This is such a fun learning tool! It’s great that it’s mess free since you just need water to “paint”. It comes with a storage bag which is nice too. Important to note that to fill the paint brush and pen you need to screw the top to the right, not the typical “lefty loosy”.

We love these cards!
My Grandson (3yo) absolutely loves these cards.I waited a few weeks before introducing the pen filled with the water as there are plenty of teaching tools to use with the cards as I didn’t want to overwhelm him with the water pen right away. When I did, I will never forget the awe and excitement on his face when the water pen revealed the picture to go with the word below it!I would recommend keeping a a washcloth handy so that after the picture is revealed the washcloth can be used to wipe off the excess water. Also, after we finish our session, I fan the cards out so that they can dry before using them again (probably overnight).I am a bit concerned that the cards are going to wear down, or lose the revealing pictures in a few months as my grandson wants us to do the cards every day. He would actually like to do them more than once a day, however, it takes awhile for the pictures to dry and become hidden again. If the cards do wear down, I would still order a new set as they are worth it.I’d also like to share that he enjoys the cards so much that we were working on them for almost 2 hours the other night and he was still reluctant to leave them.I’m excited to order a set of the numbers for him now that I see how much he enjoys the alphabet set.
