great book. This is a good book to get ...
great book. This is a good book to get if you're worried about your future relationship with your daughter. This should be the manual they give out at the hospital with your baby girl. I bought this for my husband who's been struggling to relate to his 11 yr old & even from him skimming through it - It's worked wonders. It will change your view of how to be a strong role model & helps you to remember the man you are today will be the type of man she will seek in her future for a husband. Would you be okay with your daughter marrying a man like you? leaves you really thinking. It also helps him to not take her pre-teen struggles so personally.

Women are complex creatures and many men are easily confused by them
Society seams to negate a fathers influence on his children, both son's and daughter's. Oh, how I wish this book had been available when my daughter was little. A fathers influence on his children is profound and can set the stage for success or failure. Women are complex creatures and many men are easily confused by them. Dr. Meeker allays the confusion with this easy ( designed for men ) read. Wives, get this book for your man and your daughter. Men, read this book. Not only will your daughter blossom as a result of your insight but you will experience a special relationship that you will cherish all your days.

First time Dad
I'm a 46 year old first time dad to a perfect, beautful (aren't they all?!) now 2 month old baby girl. I never thought this was going to happen and yet here we are. As your typical first time parent I worry and fret over who she will be, rush to every sound she makes and watch her every move (even have streaming video into the office!). I think I have good instincts but I wanted to get input from other sources. I heard about this book by accident and also purchased the audible version for the commute to/from home and am very happy I did so.I consider myself a liberal person, I want to be open with my daughter and let her live her life. This book opened my eyes to some of the challenges a dad will face with his daughter. At first I was a little skeptical but this is a book written by a renowned MD whose quoted data are easily fact checked (and I have) which gives much credance to the themes the author puts forth.I strongly recommend this book to dads of any age, first time or not, with babies or grown children. It will, I hope, help you be a better man, husband and father to your daughter. It's already helping me.

This author is amazing
One of my husbands favorite books for parenting. The author has incredible knowledge and biblically sound. Everything we’ve read from her is great and this is no exception! Tangible activities to spice up interactions with daughters.

Awaiting the arrival of my daughter...
And decided to pick up this book for a fun read. We are expecting a little girl soon and just reading this gets me excited about having a daughter. Lots of great insights and pointed out some things that I didn't think about. Emphasizes the importance of a Father's presence in a girl's life. Favorite tip mentioned is to be the type of man you want her to marry. Overall, great read and I can't wait to meet my little girl.

Get this book!
Great practical advice for Dads. Very touching and lovingly written. I'm only half through and the book is already making a difference. I'm closer to my 7 yr old daughter. I'm receiving more hugs and kisses and our conversations are more from the heart... and we were already very close to start. Get this book! I am recommending it to friends and family. It is especially wonderful for Dads who do not like to read a lot (very short passages/chapters)!

Great read!
My husband and I both read this book, and liked it so much we bought it for all of the other guys in our family who have daughters. It will really make you think...and worry a little bit! Dr. Meeker has a very interesting perspective as a pediatrician and shares a lot of information that is really scary to think about, but also offers a lot of excellent advice for raising a daughter in this crazy world!
