I have a bad habit of biting and picking at my nails. It's embarrassing and I wanted to stop. I got this kit and so far, no mail biting or picking! My nails are strong and much longer than before! I do better when I can't see how long they are. The gel cures under UV light so as soon as the top coat is done, I can go do things like scrubbing the dishes or gardening or cooking or giving the dog a bath and my nails stay pretty. I like the variety of colors. I chose to paint each nail tester with 3 coats, covering 1/3 each time so I could see what 1, 2 and 3 coats looks like and cured between coats. I took a sharpie and wrote the color code on the reverse. I ordered the HEMA free top coat and foundation coat set (white bottles) separately. They're for sensitive nails and I love them!Key points:- Use a thin, even coat for base, color and top coats!- Cure between coats- All coats are tacky except for top coat after curing. THIS IS NORMAL. DO NOT WIPE.- Use SPF on hands, fingers, toes (yes it works for pedis too) and wrists. I use a lotion style SPF 50 and wait 30 mins minimum before starting. The first time I didn't use SPF and my fingers, cuticles and tips of my fingers had a burning/stinging sensation when using the light. I watch a show on Netflix or Disney to pass the time.- I also bought a gel remover and liquid latex separately on Amazon (not beetles) because I hate the smell of acetone/nail polish remover. Gel remover works great but don't get any on your skin, it burns like acid. I'm not allergic to latex so this really helps my polish look clean.- This kit comes with a cuticle softener (great value and very helpful!) And a cuticle oil (I do better with lotion.) I had to wait 48 hours between my first cuticle removal and my first paint session.- The nails MUST be clean and dry. After applying SPF and waiting for it to soak in, take a rubbing alcohol wipe or a cotton ball dipped in rubbing alcohol and wipe each nail off. Then take one of the pink little squares and wipe off any dirt.- Shape your nails BEFORE you paint them.I have used the included nail art items however the only ones that stay on are the pearls for me.- Clean off any excess nail polish/top or bottom coats BEFORE you cure! I use the metal cuticle tool included to scrape away any excess.- The UV lamp can get warm.- If you use the nail art items, those metal tweezers (included) are your best friend!- Yes, the bottles are small but they will last you if you use thin even layers.- The odor is still present but very low considering the alternative.100% would recommend and would buy as a gift! It's a great starter kit for beginners!!

Yes yes yes! I’ve been a beetles fan for years now and something about having a giant kit (with a storage bag!) is so satisfying. I have tons of smaller sets that I’ve purchased that just get lost in my nail stuff and I end up having to search for them! The bottles are on the smaller side but with so many choices I don’t see it being a problem. Painting all of the swatch plates was so much fun and makes it much easier to find the right color without opening every bottle. BEETLES PLEASE START SELLING THE SWATCH PLATES SEPARATE SO I CAN SWATCH ALL OF MY POLISHES!!

My first ever nail kit. Didn’t realize how small the bottles were. Was disappointed with that at first but later realized it’s a starter kit and what ever colors I really like I could just go back and buy bigger sizes. The 5mL sizes are great for design work which is what I prefer to do over full nails anyways. Really great polish formula, lamps works great and is big. Came with stickers which was unexpected (I didn’t really read what the product included so it was a nice surprise.) I recommend for true beginners.

The polishes have some really great colors. They are small bottles but this is a beginner kit and I prefer trying them on before I commit to a huge bottle. None of these are one coat wonders. You will need multiple coats for most. The black and navy had surprisingly decent coverage for one coat though. I didn’t prep the polish hearts or add a base or top layer so the picture shows them at their basic level. The colors are more see through when held up to the light even though they look fairly pigmented against a surface like a table. I cured everything at 120. I’m using this kit for false press on nails, so I won’t be putting the polishes on my real nail. If you came here to find out about allergies this isn’t the review for you. I will say the light is really bright and after a full cure some of the polishes are tacky on the fake nails. You will need the top coat.

I forgot to take a picture of all the polishes still inside the box but I can say that these polishes are super pigmented in my opinion. I loved this one because it has every variety color in the rainbow plus more. I have created a few sets so far and I have loved every one of them. I couldn’t have been any happier with this purchase.

Perfect for beginners. Just used for first time, not perfect but learning. Tips thin layers and increase cure times. They are a little thick but my fault, even if first layer is not full coverage stay with thin layers and build. Growing my nails and wanted gel protection. For a fraction of the cost of a salon I can do my own, although not perfect, great for my goal. Just get it, small bottles but enough to try as you learn and they offer so many other kits to add to your collection of polishes!

I’ve been using regular gel nail polish for a while and wanted to get a polish that would immediately elevate a basic set. This polish delivers exactly that, I’m not a huge fan of designs but I love things that shimmer and sparkle. This polish is easy to use and doesn’t at all budge on my soft gel x tips.

Love these for experimenting with different colors instead of committing to whole bottles. Also nice to have a color scheme curated for me. Only negative is the glitters can be goopy and weren't the easiest to work with for me.
