sweet drinks
I found out through research that black currants are a power-source of vitamins and minerals, but finding the drink or the concentrate in the stores is nearly impossible. This product is really good and comes in super concentrate in a 1 liter bottle. You need a small mixing jar with gradient markings and you only need 100ml of concentrate to make a full liter of drink. It makes a delicious and nutricious drink. The price is reasonable. Shipping is a little slow, but it comes all the way from England.

Consistently good!
I was introduced to this product when I visited Scotland for the first time back in 1986. At the end ofa long sightseeing day, I'd pick up a couple bottles of Ribena before heading to my lodgings.Until I saw it on Amazon, I was unaware that I could get it on my side of the puddle! I just found outthat Trader Joe's has just introduced a Blackcurrent beverage using USA grown berries that isas good as Ribena. Choices...

Great with seltzer water, but too sweet with tap water
Upon receiving this, I prepared it according to the directions on the bottle, and I found it to be a bit sweeter than I like. However, I attest to the fact that this is very good when I tweak the instructions. If you mix it with seltzer water instead of tap water, it makes AMAZING soda. For some reason, it doesn't taste as sugary when it's carbonated, so that solves the problem of it being too sweet for my tastes. I'm sure that there are some purists out there who will say that it shouldn't be made into black currant soda, but I would highly recommend that it be made that way.

Great Stuff !
I first had Ribena when I was in England years ago at school. When I last visited I took my daughter and grandson with me and introduced them to Ribena. It was a hit with them as I knew it would be. We drink it hot but it is good cold as well. It tastes especially good if you have a cold or just feeling "down". Great pick-me-up. Try some !

Ribena Concentrated Blackcurrant Juice, look no further!
When I lived in England I used to buy this brand of Blackcurrant juice and enjoyed it very much. I have tried other brands, which were ok, but this was the one I liked best. I came back to North America and have had a hard time finding ANY black currant juice, let alone Ribena brand. This juice is a good value too because it is concentrated, so you only use a little to mix with whatever you are drinking - water, cider, etc - or cooking with it. Value from this shop is great, actually a little less expensive than the other store I found it at in Canada. I was pleased with the shipping too, it was fast and well packaged.

Straight into the trash
Okay, technically, I tried a little bit once to make sure that it wasn't so amazingly delicious that the glaring problems with the ingredients could be overlooked. (It wasn't.) And, technically, I poured it down the drain and recycled the bottle instead of actually putting it into the trash. So what happened? I had heard different accounts of how much sugar was in this. Some said "all juice." That was what I wanted -- a healthy antioxidant drink. Others said "not all juice." I decided to just be done with it and order some so I could see for myself. The first three ingredients (after dilution) are: water, *sugar*, Blackcurrant juice from concentrate _(5%)_. Yuck.If you're looking for a "healthier" alternative to soft drinks, then this might be your thing. If, instead, you're looking to augment your diet with a healthy juice, it is not.

Ribena Black Currant Drink Concentrate
This product tastes excellent as advertised; however, it is not as concentrated as Tiessiere black currant syrup that I purchased previously. On quantative basis, the products are comparable, each making approximately the same amount of drink when mixed according to directions. This results in the same quantity of finished drink for about the same price per ounce. But, to achieve the same taste qualitatively, Tiessiere appears to make more finished drink. Both are excellent products but I prefer Tiessiere over Ribena.
