Q: Is this for the original 320 or the model after the voluntary upgrade program?

Appears to be for original. Changes are not obvious on a generic P320 mat. This is still essentially valid for most everyday P320 owners, pre- and post-upgrade. Not intended to be deep technical blueprint. I use mine.

The specs for the P320 compact are altered but the structure of the gun is nearly the same. I'd say it's up to the buyer on whether or not they want something exact. :)

Q: Does this work for the M17 too?

Not sure what you mean by “works” but the mat will “work” for any handgun you are trying to clean. TekMat doesn’t make a mat specifically for the M17 but the M17 is a P320 with some minor modifications and rebranded with a new name for military use.
