I don’t have a networking background nor could I tell you the real difference between WAN or LAN. What I can tell you is that this little guy is a lifesaver. I was worried about working on the road & searched for solution. After reading the reviews & some videos, I decided to purchase it. What a great decision. Stayed in 3 different hotels & was able to hop on without issue. Great wireless connectivity, the song al strength was super fast with little lag, and it really does fit in the palm of your hand. Use the GLI app and it is really so easy. Plug & play for me. There seems to be plenty of options if you know what you’re doing, to customize it even more. For me though, it worked like a charm!

I love these little things. Great for travel, but can work fine on most home networks as a router. Our internet speeds are down under 300mbps, and this unit can handle that just fine. For such a little unit the WiFi range is very good. I actually used it as a router in-house, and outwardly also functioned as an OpenVPN server, with certificate and username/password security. Setting up the OpenVPN was surprisingly easy.

Perfect travel router. What would have been hundreds of dollars 4 years ago us now $35. Great for working in hotels and other businesses. I've even tethered hot spots to it. Works particularly well when you need to network a large enterprise printer in a hotel and have several laptop users share the printer. Just set up your own VLAN and bam! Won't travel )or troubleshoot) without one now.

This was not expensive as i went for the cheaper model. Using it at a long term stay at a Holiday Inn where we all share a public network. This allowed me to create a 2.4 and 5G network to run a bunch of devices and add a layer of security to my browsing. I run an Alexa, and several LED wifi bulbs (its a LONG TERM STAY) my phone and a laptop. Configuring it to its fullest requires a little work on your end to find Youtube videos that can really help you. My buddy couldnt get his PS5 to work on the Hotel network but when he got one of these, he was able to make it work as well. I really love it as a travel router. Its small and fairly reliable - i have to go into it and reconfigure it from time to time but that could be a hotel problem. I stream my firestick off it too - and thats been flawless.
