One of the ad bullets explicitly claims:"NOTE: UB500 is not compatible with Mac, Linux, TV, or Windows 8."But it seemed several reviewers had no issues getting it to work with various Linux distros, so thought I'd try it. Works for me under Arch Linux, kernel 6.1: Device is claimed by btusb driver, which then loads rtl_bt/rtl8761bu. No issues at all.Maybe the ad copy was written some time ago when there were documented issues with this device under 5.x kernels? I don' t know, just guessing, but in any case, I encountered no problems on my setup.As expected, given the "nano" size form factor, range is not wonderful; connectivity is intermittent thru 3 walls at 20 ft. But hey, fine for my purposes within 3-4m from the paired device.

Fixed my Bluetooth issues completely. Built in Bluetooth on desktops is notoriously terrible. I could connect most things but the input latency was SO BAD it would take several seconds to recognize I pressed the A button. BUT THIS IS GREAT. Literally just plug it in (Disable Bluetooth on your desktop 1st so that this device takes over as primary) and bam you're set. Now I can connect my controllers with 0 issues. I was so sick of being tethered to a wire. And when it's on sale I got it for I believe $8-10 fantastic price for what you get. Works great it's super small.

It works out of the box with Linux Mint 22.1 and probably Ubuntu tgat it is based on out of the boxsith no drivers. However, system reports speeds only 12Mbs which means it dies not use advance features of modern Bluetooth. So do not expect features of 5.3 until Linux development starts working on them. Other thsn that you can pair it with single device like keyboard, trackpad or mice. I have not tried ot it with headphones, but I assume it should work even at that low speed. What TP-Link supports is one thing and what specific OS supports or alliows is another. Everything depends on chipset used by manufacturer. This one has basic support for advanced chipset. If manufacturer used drivers on hardware tgat could make it universal and did not require specific OS like Windows or installation of drivers by manufacturer I would give it five stars. I would give it five also if it had drivers for all mainstream operating systems and not only Windows. It is time torcognize tgat even AMD supports Linux as Linux desktops make to mainstram slowly.

The adaptor works great. I can't believe I didn't purchase it sooner. Now I enter the car and immediately my phone connects and Android auto starts-- this is fantastic. My wife has an iPhone and work great for her on CarPlay. I contacted customer service with a question by email and got near immediate response that was helpful.

I decided to give it a try based on other reviews saying Linux works. The built in Bluetooth kept disconnecting from speaker. TP Link stays connected, works much better.Steps:1. Disable Bluetooth in Settings\Bluetooth2. Insert TP Link USB Bluetooth3. Go to Settings\Bluetooth. Bluetooth now appears on and shows devices. Pair it.4.
