On the coffee I ordered a month and 1/2 ago the best by date is 9/30/2016

Q: How does this compare to Illy Dark Roast?

Illy is very good coffee. The Dark Roast has a bit more bitter taste than the Lavazza Tierra and for my taste I prefer the Lavazza.

Q: Why does my subscription stop, claiming that the product is no longe available, but it is still available for about $2 more?

Make sure it is sold by same vendor. Also some of the subscriptions do not renew on their own, you need to renew it yourself

Comparing to other Lavazza coffees this one is distinctive in terms of earthiness. Really tasty, not acidic coffee. One of my favorite.
