I have a Toyota Highlander key with dimensions 2 3/16 L x 1 1/2 W and 9/16 in thickness and it DOES NOT FIT within the inner chamber. The length and width fit easily. The thick side DOES NOT. The internal depth of the lock chamber is 1 1/4, but the lock mechanism takes up much of the space, about 1 5/8 in of the approximately 3 5/8 in total internal length. The depth of the lock mechanism is 1 1/8 in at its thickest and that is the problem. The lock mechanism does not allow for a key of this thickness to fit, the lid sits 1/8 in from closing.
