Fun Travel Activity for 5 Year Old
This was a fun activity for my 5 year old. A bit of a learning curve for her to use the tape, but a fun activity overall.

Love the concept
I like the concept of this and was impressed with the quality of the book itself. It is large and sturdy. As others have shared, the tape is hard to rip for young kids. My daughter was frustrated with it so I ended up tearing small pieces for her to play with. The texture is similar to thick painters tape. It is reusable and easy to take off the book. She is a kid who tends to prefer blank paper over coloring books and quickly discovered she could just use the tape on our table (fine with us) and ignored the book - see the photos. Not sure if she will use the book in the future. Now that I’m writing this I’m wondering if I should have just bought the tape that another reviewer mentioned. I found this when looking for activities to do in a plane but for us the book is a little large. If it holds your kiddo’s attention and they use the book, it might be worth it. I guess you just need to know your kid and how much structure they like for crafts.

Kept my 4 yr old busy on a plane ride!
This is a great kit! We actually ordered more tape when she finished this book because she had a ton of fun just creating with the left over tape! This book kept her busy for a solid hour twice on 2 separate flights. It was easy enough for her to do on her own but still challenging enough to keep her happy. It also held up in my very full, very tossed around backpack!

Great activity
Hours of fun for kids. Tape isn’t easy to rip for those working on fine motor skills. Child scissors worked fine though as a solution.

Too Hard for Independent Use by Almost 6-year-old
I bought this for a long road trip with my 5/6 year old son. The designs and the concept are right up his alley. He loves shapes and lines and he loves gluing and taping things and he's always been ahead of his class in fine motor dexterity because he is a Lego guy. HOWEVER, he was unable to estimate the length of the pieces of tape he needed for the lines (you know how you have to eyeball how much and then leave the cushion for the tearing of the tape) and he was unable to tear the tape from the rolls himself, though they are incredibly easy to tear tape rolls (from an adult perspective - easier than masking tape, but the rolls are tiny). Where some toys/crafts work well with a parent helping, this one did not. I have set it aside to try again in six months, but the pictures in the book are very basic, so i worry, that by the time he can do the tape himself, he won't be interested in how basic the activity is. We'll see. I still love this idea, but I think this one is a miss - there is too much of a disparity in interest level of the pictures (almost preschool looking) vs. skills required (the tape!).To elaborate on the types of pictures and how the activity is supposed to work...There is a picture of a helicopter drawn with basic lines and the child is supposed to tear a certain color of taped indicated in the picture and lay the tape down over the line that is the step on a helicopter, so a straight, long piece of tape. And then you would go to the next picture. Very basic lines.

Seriously, buy it now
My 4 year old spent 4+ hours putting the tape on and taking the tape off on recent cross country flights. He did have a hard time ripping the tape, so we helped but it was totally worth it. This morning at home, he's taking it off again. I would buy extra washi tape (make sure it's thin) because the set that comes with it is only enough for one round. Best money we've spent in awhile.
